Date: August 17, 2026
Dear Valued Customer,
We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you of an important policy change in China that will affect lithium battery pricing, and to help you plan your procurement accordingly.
What Is Changing?
On July 17, 2026, China’s Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Taxation Administration jointly issued Announcement No. 20 of 2026, which ends the consumption tax exemption that lithium-ion batteries have enjoyed since 2015.
Under the new policy:
- From September 1, 2026: أ 2% consumption tax will be levied on lithium-ion batteries (including all CSSUN LiFePO4 energy storage and lithium battery products).
- From September 1, 2027: The tax rate will increase to 4%.

What This Means for You
As a manufacturer, this additional tax will increase our production costs across all CSSUN lithium battery product lines. To maintain our commitment to quality and service, we will need to adjust our prices once the policy takes effect.
Our Recommendation: Lock in Current Prices
We strongly advise you to place your orders before September 1, 2026 to secure the current, tax-exempt pricing. Orders confirmed and deposited before this date will be honored at existing prices.
After September 1, 2026, all new orders will reflect the updated pricing structure to account for the 2% consumption tax.
